This is a premier pollinator plant providing a feast for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. These short-lived herbaceous perennials with their long blooming purple flowers and lightly anise-scented leaves are sure to delight your senses and bring the hum of life to your garden. This plant is in the Laminaceae family or mint family and is both drought and deer resistant. The aromatic leaves can be used in teas, to flavor jellies, and thrown into salads. We have even seen it used in fruit wines. Native to the plains and dry upland forests of the midwest in North America.
