This Hungarian heirloom was brought to Beaver Dam, WI by the Joe Husil family in 1912. Our farmer friends have sung its praises for many years and they were right, it is fantastic! It packs a lot of flavor, the perfect level of spice, and its thick walls provide a satisfying crunch. It is the absolute best addition to summer salsa fresca! We love it stuffed, in sandwiches, or on salads. Medium hot fruits ripen from green to orange-red to full red and can be enjoyed at any stage.  500 and 1,000 SHU on the Scoville scale.
