Phaseolus acutifolius
These cute small navy and tan teparies hail from the highlands of Mexico, a lineage of the Mayan communities. In our mountain climate they have been very prolific producers, perhaps the most prolific of the teparies we’ve grown. They have a dense growth habit forming thick mats of green with pink blossoms. This we suspect will make them better at weed suppression than other teparies we have grown. Heirloom. Small navy blue and tan specked beans born on dense bushy plants. Extremely drought tolerant. Water minimally to ensure seed set.
Teparies have evolved with the monsoonal rains of the summer and have exceptional drought tolerance. Please keep in mind it is important not to over irrigate them.

Still too early to tell. Most germinated. The ones I planted in grow bags have not.
Hope they grow. I love the taste.
