Heirloom. A resounding favorite of ours this tomato has a balanced flavor that even the most unique palates seem to enjoy, it is productive on robust plants with heavy foliage. Produces large deep pink beefsteak fruits range from 1-3 lbs. has some yellow green shoulders which often assures a delicious tasting tomato. Late to mid -season tomato this tomato ripened for us in 75 days after being transplanted.

It was originally offered commercially by Merlin W. Gleckler of Glecklers Seedmen in 1958, who operated with the help of his 14 children. I need to work on that! In his catalogue he says speaking to its near extinction that, “only by (the) handing down by generations of one family has this tomato existed.” Again this the Dutchman variety seems rare only being offered by a handful of companies. we are so happy to offer it now!
