Latah Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Very Early | Robust Flavor | 50 Days to Maturity

It is often hard to find a determinate variety that is early to mature and has a good flavor. This is our current favorite producing an abundance of tomatoes in 50 days. Produces small saladette-sized fruits (2-3 oz) with robust tomato flavor (probably due to their slightly green shoulders) for an extended period. It is perfect for container planting.

Our friends even had success growing it in a pot on their porch in Ouray, CO – a shady high-altitude box canyon that we refer to as “little Switzerland.” Latah was bred by the University of Idaho by Art Boe who “set out to develop short-season tomatoes for northern Idaho’s high-elevation sites.” Semi-determinate growth habit.
